Everyday use
Plan limits
See how much of your Claude plan's 5-hour and weekly limits you've used, live, in the sidebar.
If Claude Code is signed in with a Claude plan (Pro or Max), the sidebar's plan limits card shows how much of the current 5-hour session window and the week you've used, and when each resets.
These numbers come from Claude Code's status line. The Agentower status-line script reads only them — percent used and reset time for the two windows — prints them in Claude Code's status line, after the agent's name and short ID (for example Sarah · BIL-02 · Plan · 5h 42% · week 61%) and sends those numbers to Agentower when they change (or every 15 minutes, a heartbeat that keeps an idle terminal's agent on the board), with the session ID, the model's name and its effort level (for example high), so the board can show which model each agent uses and at what effort. Nothing else from the status line is read or sent.
#Set it up
You need the address and key file from Connect Claude Code (step 1).
Download the status-line script and put it next to the hook:
curl -fsSL https://agentower.com/integrations/claude-code/agentower-statusline.sh -o ~/.agentower/agentower-statusline.shAdd a statusLine to ~/.claude/settings.json:
{
"statusLine": { "type": "command", "command": "sh \"$HOME/.agentower/agentower-statusline.sh\"", "padding": 0, "refreshInterval": 60 }
}Start a new Claude Code session. The card fills in after Claude's first reply.
The status line does two more things: it shows the agent's name and ID at the start of the line, so you can match a terminal to its card (a rename in Agentower reaches the terminal within a few minutes), and it keeps a quiet agent on the board while its terminal is open (see When an agent closes by itself). With an API-key login it shows just the name and ID (Sarah · BIL-02). Like the hook, it sends only to an https:// address (or localhost), and hands your key to curl from ~/.agentower/.auth-header, never on a command line.
Claude Code allows one status line. If you already have one, choose which to keep: plan limits need the Agentower one.
#More than one tool or account
Codex's plan limits arrive through the Agentower hook, and each account can have its own name. The sidebar card lists your plans with the tool you used most in the last 7 days first; each bar is green below 75 %, amber from 75 to 90 % and red above 90 %; all of them are on the Usage page — see Usage and several accounts.
#Why it's empty
- No session has run with the status line yet. The card reads "Appear when a Claude Code session runs with the Agentower status line."
- Claude Code is signed in with an API key, not a Claude plan. API-key logins have no plan limits, so there is nothing to show.
- The numbers are old. With no Claude Code session open, the card keeps the last numbers it heard and shows when they were updated. Once a window's reset time passes it reads 0 % until fresh numbers arrive.
#Usage today
Under the plan limits, Usage today shows today's tokens — how many were newly written, and that the rest were re-read from cache — and their API value: what they would cost on the pay-as-you-go API. On a Claude plan you pay your subscription, not this amount — it shows the value you get from it. Agentower's own fee on tokens is always $0.
